An exciting attempt at inclusion has finally moved from the development stage to campuswide execution, sources confirm.

Boston University has partnered with Boston’s BlueBikes service to offer adaptive transportation opportunities for students in the College of General Studies.

“Usually the CGS kids ran away any time we tried to introduce them to a new concept,” said Bill Dickins, a CGS staff member. “But they’re loving this new program, it makes them feel less self-conscious about wearing helmets around campus all the time.”

For a population that is accustomed to being hit by cars, bikes, scooters, the MBTA, the BU Bus, and sashaying CFA students on the streets of Comm Ave, this business venture is an exciting new frontier.

“We had to get them to the main campus somehow,” said Emma Clark, a CGS Advisor. “They were all just hiding in the Fenway dining hall eating the small supply of actually good food this university has to offer.”

Multiple attempts were made to lure CGS students to their classes, including a double decker Fenway bus.

“Wrangling them all up and making them walk holding hands was just taking up too much time,” said Clark.

“They all kept bragging about how the buses in London were taller,” added Dickins. “So we considered the double decker option, but feared they would fall off.”

Myles Baker, a Questrom student, ultimately came up with the prevailing solution.

“They tried using the regular bikes with two wheels, but they kept tipping over,” said Baker. “Guess they don’t have enough CORE strength, heh heh.”

The fleet of tricycles will be unleashed onto the campus early next week, according to CGS records.

The trikes will also be equipped with a handy-dandy map, pointing out the fastest routes to local playgrounds and liquor stores.
