Girl Gets Coffee From Starbucks, Puts It In Pavement Cup

COMMONWEALTH AVENUE—While there is usually the tough decision between Pavement Coffee at 500 Commonwealth and Starbucks Coffee at 700 Commonwealth, a new trend as emerged: combining the two. Student like Erica Daniels (CAS ‘18) are now purchasing unadorned yet “hip” cups from Pavement, then running to Starbucks and getting Pumpkin Spice Latte filled inside.“When I have my Pavement cup, everyone knows I’m cool, and doesn’t think I used an app on my phone to pay for my coffee,” Daniels said despite her drink not actually being coffee but a collection of milk, water, and corn syrup. The recent trend has caused controversy when students have back to back classes.“It’s a disaster on that area of Commonwealth Ave because students are darting between the two establishments while also trying to get to their respective psych lectures,” says Professor Gareth Schwartz, who puts his pumpkin spice latte in a bamboo thermos that he bought from Whole Foods.Pavement owner Aubrey Lee said she’s not pleased with the type of people now publicizing her business in using their cups.“The other day someone came in asking for a cup and was unironically wearing UGG boots. I charged her $17”.At press time, Starbucks Coffee was declining repeated requests to comment for this article.
