Student Wins World Series Tickets From Ellen DeGeneres After High-Stakes Game Of Russian Roulette

MARSH PLAZA—After a long, terrifying ordeal lasting several hours and involving hundreds of people, a Boston University student walked away from a taping of the Ellen DeGeneres show with two tickets to the first game of the 2013 World Series after being declared the winner of a massive game of Russian Roulette.“It was horrible,” said Tracey Stein (SMG ‘16), still wearing her blood-spattered Green Monster costume, which was a prerequisite for participating in the contest at Marsh Plaza. “Once I figured out what was going on, it was too late and I just had to keep playing. There was such a big crowd that I physically couldn’t leave.”Sources say that an eerily calm DeGeneres thanked participants for coming before explaining the rules of the contest to them.“There’s no turning back once we start,” she said, with a cold, indifferent gaze to the audience and a face frozen in a smile. Camera crews and onlookers then stood by as people dressed in Fenway-themed costumes began to anxiously follow DeGeneres’s instructions as she began passing single-action revolvers around the crowd of people.“I thought everyone was playing around at first,” said Stein. “Like when she dances on her show. Ellen always dances on her show and everyone joins her. I thought it was some kind of weird silly dance, oh God.”“I knew Ellen’s show coming to the plaza would cause a commotion, but I had absolutely no idea anything as horrible as this would happen,” said a representative of Marsh Chapel. “The crowd was so big we couldn’t even get to the middle to stop it. Is this the cost of having the World Series at Fenway?”At press time, it appears that the tickets are for seats in the nosebleeds.
