The Bunion Celebrates The End of Fake News By Purchasing The Daily Free Press

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:The Bunion, Boston University's satirical publication, announces its acquisition of The Daily Free Press, Boston University’s independent newspaper. The announcement comes amid concerns of fake news in the current media sphere, concerns The Bunion has taken to heart.With the purchase of The Daily Free Press, The Bunion will be shifting its content to objective, fact-checked news and will step away from its old stance on articles and quizzes devoid of any journalistic integrity.“A lot of our writers have been personally affected by fake news but we never batted an eye,” says Timothy Choi, Editor-In-Chief of The Bunion. “One day, we decided to take a good hard look at ourselves, and realized we were a big part of the problem.”The Bunion announces also that it will be rebranding and will be operating under the name of The Daily Free Press, honoring the historic name and ensuring the legacy of the newspaper continues on for years and years to come.All Daily Free Press staff will be notified of the termination of their positions later this afternoon.About The Bunion: The Bunion was a satire news publication for the Boston University community created by Kevin Flynn on September 6th, 2012.
