Marathon Water Stations Repurposed For Thirsty Students Running Late To Class

BEACON St.—Due to the popularity of the water stations from the marathon, officials have decided to repurpose them for students who are running late to class.“I woke up at 7:55AM for my 8:00AM class and sprinted out the door,” said Jeremy Reynolds (CAS ‘17). “All I could think about was how I wished I brought my water bottle with me, but then the water booth appeared in the mirage on the horizon.”The first water station appears at the 5K mark, this way students can stay hydrated early on in their run to class, allowing their bodies to distribute electrolytes properly throughout the jog.“I got into BU in the first place because I qualified for my weight and height to make it to class on time from west campus,” said Jenny Whiteman (COM ‘18). “And I really just don’t want to disappoint.”Several stations have been spread throughout campus, and water can be purchased with convenience points.“In order to calculate how many stations we needed in between campus and Danielson, we took the total number of stations on campus and multiplied it by four,” said administrator Keith Walsh. As expected, drunk people have flocked to the areas surrounding the water stations to cheer on students running to class. At press time, runners were hoping to get sponsors such as Nike, Adidas, and Champion to fund their race to class.
