BU Hockey Team Wins Over a Month Ago

AGGANIS ARENA—Freshman Nick Roberto’s three goals and sophomore Sean Maguire’s 36 saves helped the Boston University Men's  Ice Hockey team get back in the win column with a 4-2 victory against No. 17 Vermont over a month ago on Friday, January 24th at Agganis Arena. The Terriers opened the scoring early in the second period about 30 days ago today, and added two more before the end of the period to take a 3-1 lead into the third.Vermont had nine power-play opportunities during the game last month, including four in the third, and used the advantage to make it a 3-2 affair with 12:36 left in regulation. An empty-netter goal from Terrier Roberto in the closing seconds of the late-January game secured the victory and snaped an eight-game win-less streak (0-7-1) before beginning another similar win-less streak (0-7-2).A report has shown that since the Terriers’ last win, the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi began and ended, the nations of Venezuela and Ukraine have had massive, deadly revolutions, and the television programs The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Late Night with Seth Meyers have both premiered in New York City. Sources also confirm that in this time, it has snowed seven times in Boston, accumulating over 3 feet of snow. The men’s hockey team closed out that weekend’s series against Vermont by losing to them next night, 6-2. BU hockey then lost again. And again. And again. At press time, students are trying to figure out how to go back to 2009.
